ARConCIEL – VGU Architecture Day 2024

On December 19, 2024, VGU hosted VGU Architecture Day – ARC 2024 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its Architecture program. This year's theme, ARConCIEL, featured a series of inspiring activities, encouraging students to continue their journey in architecture.

One of the highlights was the Sustainable Architecture Practice Seminar, a platform for attendees to explore sustainable architecture through expert-led discussions. Topics ranged from design trends and emerging technologies to green materials and construction strategies. Dr. Architect Huynh Van Khang’s session focused on responsive architectural designs tailored to Vietnam's environmental conditions.
Insights on Practicing environmental responsive architecture design in VietNam
During the seminar, Dr. Huynh Van Khang presented analyses of residential architectural designs that effectively utilize Vietnam’s natural elements, such as wind and light. By comprehensively studying the surrounding environment and incorporating intelligent design solutions, these structures minimize negative environmental impacts. This approach contributes to sustainable development in the areas where such buildings are located.

Dr. Khang emphasized that adaptive architectural design, particularly passive architecture, is the key to sustainable architecture practices in Vietnam. This conclusion stems from his extensive research and aligns with the Glocal Design pillar—one of five core research pillars currently being developed at ISCM.
