2026 Theme: “Co-Creating Place Identity: From Local Heritage to Sustainable Futures”
Urban Beyond The Urban (UBU) is an annual international summer camp on sustainable development, hosted by the Institute of Smart City and Management, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH-ISCM), in collaboration with international partners and universities from South Korea, Italy, and more.
Through the Living Lab and Design Thinking approaches, participants will work closely with local communities to co-create innovative solutions that help preserve heritage values, strengthen local identity, and promote sustainable community development.
With this year’s theme, “Co-Creating Place Identity: From Local Heritage to Sustainable Futures,” participants will collaborate with local communities and stakeholders to explore the unique cultural values of Van Thang Agarwood Village. They will also propose ideas and solutions to preserve local heritage, enhance place identity, and foster sustainable development through Living Lab and Design Thinking methodologies.

For K50 students: Participation may be converted into credits for the Study Trip course.

🌟 50% Scholarship – only VND 4,600,000
Original fee: VND 9,200,000
Applicable to interns who have worked or are currently working at ISCM; students who have received certificates of merit/awards such as the ISCM Award; or students who have participated in competitions or events organized by ISCM, such as festivals, workshops, and more.
🌟 30% Scholarship – only VND 6,500,000
Original fee: VND 9,200,000
Exclusively for ISCM students, with priority given to K50 students.
The participation fee includes transportation from Ho Chi Minh City to the Agarwood Village, accommodation, and meals during the program in the survey area. Personal expenses are not included.
