[Recruitment announcement] Lecturer in Smart Mobility and Operations Management

Overview

The lecturer will contribute to developing high-quality human resources for smart and sustainable urban mobility systems in Vietnam and the region. The role includes participating in research and technology transfer, developing the UEH Mobility Living Lab, and co-creating multimodal mobility and transport operation projects with government agencies, industry partners, and communities.

Qualifications and Skills

PhD (preferred) or a foreign Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Transport Engineering / Transportation Planning

  • Highway & Traffic Engineering

  • Railway Engineering / Railway Operations

  • Maritime Transport / Inland Waterways Engineering

  • Aviation Management / Air Transport Operations

  • Logistics & Supply Chain Management (with transport focus)

  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

  • Urban Mobility / Sustainable Mobility

Notes

  • Foreign Master’s graduates must have 2–4 years of practical experience, IELTS 6.0, and commit to pursuing a PhD within two years after recruitment.

  • Aviation-related fields may include Aviation Management, Air Transportation, and Aerospace Operations.

  • Strong research capability; international publications are an advantage.

Competencies & Skills

  • Multidisciplinary and systems-thinking mindset aligned with UEH’s interdisciplinary and sustainability philosophy.

  • Modern teaching skills (e.g., PBL, case-based, simulation-based).

  • English proficiency: IELTS 6.0+ or equivalent.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching

  • Teach courses across four mobility domains: Road, Railway, Waterway, and Aviation.

  • Develop teaching materials and course content aligned with modern pedagogical approaches such as outcome-based education and blended learning.

  • Organize studios, practical workshops, and case-based learning activities with external partners.

Research & Publications

  • Publish in Scopus/ISI journals in smart mobility, ITS, logistics, and rail/water/aviation operations.

  • Participate in ISCM research units such as the Smart Mobility Lab, Smart City Lab, and Immersive Technology initiatives.

Projects – Consultancy – Living Labs

  • Engage in research, consulting, and applied projects with transport, mobility, and logistics organizations.

  • Contribute to the development and operation of the UEH Mobility Living Lab.

  • Supervise student projects, studios, capstones, and internships.

Industry Collaboration

  • Build and maintain partnerships with public agencies, transport operators, logistics companies, and mobility-related organizations.

  • Collaborate in developing curricula, learning outcomes, and practice-oriented training modules align
